Dona Pupusa · $5.50
A pupusa, made with donut dough.
The Donut Pupusa is Winstar's remix of a native Salvadoran dish. It is made with donut flour and the ingredients you would normally find in an actual Salvadoran pupusa, then baked until the outside turns golden.
John Adi Flores created it, and it has become the shop's signature. Univision's Despierta América came to the kitchen to film it being made, with queso, revuelta and chicharrón. In September 2026 a new one joined the case: spinach and cheese.
Closing each one by hand, an egg wash, then into the oven. From a morning in the Winstar kitchen with @savouryseb.
